Social Media Data Deletion Policy

Introduction

This policy outlines the procedures for requesting and executing the deletion of personal data from Google and Facebook platforms. The aim is to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and safeguard users' rights to have their personal data removed from these services.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and third parties who interact with or manage personal data on Google and Facebook on behalf of Meme Genie UK Limited.

Google Data Deletion Instructions

For Individual Users:

  • Google Account Data Deletion:
    • Access your Google Account:
    • Navigate to Data & Privacy:
      • Select "Data & Privacy" from the left-hand menu.
    • Delete your Google Account:
      • Scroll down to "More options" and select "Delete your Google Account".
      • Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the deletion.
  • Google Services Data Deletion:
    • YouTube:
      • Go to YouTube.
      • Click on your profile picture and select "YouTube Studio".
      • In the left-hand menu, go to "Settings" > "Channel" > "Advanced settings".
      • Click "Remove YouTube Content" and follow the instructions.
    • Google Photos:
      • Go to Google Photos.
      • Select the photos or albums you want to delete.
      • Click the trash can icon and confirm deletion.

For Businesses:

  • Google Workspace:
    • Access Admin Console:
    • Delete User Accounts:
      • Navigate to "Users" and select the user account to be deleted.
      • Click the "More" button and select "Delete User".
      • Confirm the deletion and follow any additional instructions.
    • Delete Shared Drives:
      • Navigate to "Apps" > "Google Workspace" > "Drive and Docs".
      • Select "Manage shared drives" and choose the drive to delete.
      • Click the trash can icon and confirm deletion.

Facebook Data Deletion Instructions

For Individual Users:

  • Facebook Account Deletion:
    • Access your Facebook Account:
      • Go to Facebook.
      • Sign in with your Facebook credentials.
    • Navigate to Settings & Privacy:
      • Click on the downward arrow in the top right corner.
      • Select "Settings & Privacy" > "Settings".
    • Delete your Facebook Account:
      • In the left-hand menu, select "Your Facebook Information".
      • Click "Deactivation and Deletion".
      • Choose "Permanently Delete Account" and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Facebook Data Deletion:
    • Activity Log:
      • Access your profile and click on "Activity Log".
      • Review your posts, comments, and other activities.
      • Use the filters to find specific items and delete them individually.
    • Messages:
      • Open Facebook Messenger.
      • Select the conversation you want to delete.
      • Click on the settings icon and choose "Delete".

For Businesses:

  • Facebook Page Deletion:
    • Access your Facebook Page:
      • Go to Facebook.
      • Click "Pages" in the left-hand menu and select the page to delete.
    • Delete the Page:
      • Go to "Settings" > "General".
      • Scroll down to "Remove Page" and select "Delete Meme Genie".
      • Confirm the deletion and follow any additional instructions.
  • Facebook Ad Data Deletion:
    • Access Facebook Ads Manager:
    • Delete Ad Campaigns:
      • Select the campaigns, ad sets, or ads you want to delete.
      • Click the trash can icon and confirm deletion.

Data Retention and Deletion Requests

Retention Period: Personal data will be retained only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, after which it will be deleted in accordance with this policy.

Deletion Requests: Users may request deletion of their data by contacting Meme Genie UK Limited's Data Protection Officer/Support Team at support@memegenie.uk or use our contact form.

Compliance and Monitoring

  • Audits: Regular audits will be conducted to ensure compliance with this policy.
